In alignment with our ongoing commitment to community and environmental stewardship, Servicing Solutions hosted a meaningful Earth Day event this year at Bolsa Chica State Beach. On a sunny California morning, employees from our local office teamed up with Surfrider Foundation North Orange County for a beach clean-up event to demonstrate our dedication to making a positive impact on the planet.
The event, held from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., saw a “small but mighty group” of participants, including notable team members Star Thomas, Jessica Aguilar, Cheryl Roberts, and friend Lisa Kerby. Together, they collected 10 pounds of trash, helping to clear the beach and nearby ocean of pollutants that could harm its inhabitants and degrade the beauty of the local environment.
Cheryl Roberts, Vice President of Human Resources at Servicing Solutions, shared her enthusiasm for the initiative, “Our employees were very supportive of the idea of organizing a beach clean-up. It’s a great extension of our values and allows us to contribute to our community in new and impactful ways.” This initiative is part of a broader effort by Servicing Solutions to engage in community service, building on the company’s annual traditions of hosting a canned food drive in November and a toy drive in December.
The choice of Bolsa Chica State Beach for the clean-up activity was strategic, driven by its proximity and the community’s connection to the coast. “Living in Southern California, one of the greatest blessings is the ability to go to the beach and enjoy the ocean,” Roberts remarked. “But it’s also something we sometimes take for granted. By cleaning up the beach, we are helping protect the marine life and promoting a clean and safe environment.”
The event not only focused on cleaning up the beach but also served as a platform to raise awareness about the importance of environmental preservation. “While we know that one group can’t save the world, if we work together, we can make a significant impact,” Roberts added.
Feedback from employees suggests that the beach clean-up was well-received and provided a fulfilling way to give back to the community while fostering a culture of sustainability within the company. Servicing Solutions is proud of our team’s efforts and remains committed to supporting environmental initiatives that complement its business ethos.
As the company looks to the future, we plan to continue exploring additional ways to contribute positively to the community and the environment, inspired by the active participation and suggestions of its employees. The success of the Earth Day event is just one example of how Servicing Solutions is dedicated to making a lasting impact, one community project at a time.
